Although migratory movements occur in both humans and animals, the issue of emotionality is a particular thing among people. Feeling joy, sadness, strangeness and even a sense of belonging to a place is part of our complexities. In the particular case when we migrate to places with different cultures and languages we are more aware of our own, allowing us to know ourselves in a whole complex world of expressions that can have different meanings for each culture. The focus is basically the theme of gestures and movements as an expressive character of our body and conceiver of emotions.

"THE CORE" is the first collection of digital art taken from the experimental film IMPULS (2016) by Arnaldo Drés González. A work inspired by his own migrant experience from the Sud-American to the European continent. It is a visual simplification of feelings. Presented with an audiovisual narrative and with an invitation to define what we see without realizing that it is about ourselves in an environment as strange as the dilemma between the simplicity and the complexity of communication between humans.

IMPULS | THE CORE - NFT COLLECTION presents Fifty-four unique works in the series. Each image invites us to open dialogues among ourselves by measuring our ability to determine how many movements and how many gestures each image can have. This situation is a visual translation of the emotional and mental feelings of when a person lives the experience of integration in a culture with a different language. It is a constant decoding of codes, symbols, emotions, messages. It´s also a reflection of the tolerance and understanding that we can have towards what we do not know.

Each GIF art represents a core. And they are all part of a one digital piece that Arnaldo has composed to develop all his subsequent imagery for IMPULS (Genesis) video art.

IMPULS (Genesis) was the first in-progress sequence of the final version of the film, originally shown in a 3-channel video installation (2015) and is shown to the public in a single 4K version exclusively here on the site for the release of "The Core" NFTs collection. 

In this series the own body of the artist coexists within an organic element, which lives, moves and expresses itself. It also travels in this space and migrates from one side to another.

For the realization of IMPULS (Genesis), Arnaldo used a single video file to build a multidimensional imaginary. He applied an abstract aesthetic based on a record of the movement of his hands in front of a camera (something like capturing a language). That makes this work a lens-based art taken to the digital environment. An unusual practice in most crypto art creations. González also sees this as a form of poetic survival of digital media before AI projects.

This first collection of Fifty-four Unique NFTs is based on animated GIF format. Each one different from the other. Each one has variations in gestures and movement and these are determined by time, rhythm and of course by your own contemplation. Perhaps a physical explanation of how a language happens here. A direct connection to the complexity of languages, body expressions and the evocation of feelings. It requires being very curious, patient and contemplative.
